You don't need a big trauma story for this to be for you — a lot of what brings people here is more subtle: growing up in a family that looked fine but was controlling, shaming, or emotionally distant.
Sessions are 50 minutes, in-person at my Newtown practice or, in some cases, online via Zoom. The first session is about getting a sense of you, not gathering your full history.
The first priority in trauma work is always safety. We take time to get to know each other, build trust, and help you connect with your internal resources. Along the way, I'll share some information about how trauma affects your nervous system. We'll pause often to check in about your needs and make sure you feel supported before going any deeper.
Once you feel a bit more settled, we can gently explore together. We'll notice what's happening in your mind and body: your sensations, your emotions, your thoughts. I'll offer grounding tools, and we can try out some somatic practices at your own pace.
We will make space for what you've experienced to settle in, so it can become part of your daily life.
"When will I get better?" You can't fast-track your way out of a stressed nervous system — slowing down comes first.
I've seen cognitive-based therapists before and while they had their place, the somatic approach Nicole uses has taken my healing to a different level entirely. She draws on a variety of modalities and tailors her support beautifully.
— Alix, clientThere's no online booking for sessions — only the free 15-minute intro call books online via Calendly. If it's a good fit, we book your first session directly, generally at the end of that call.
